"1908 takes the Ionian cable from my Irish Coffee tunic and translates it onto a modern pullover, adding dense texture and a gorgeous, vibrant color. The balance of narrow to wide lines is perfect here and creates a beautiful fabric. As shown, it’s a garment that can be worn year round, with short sleeves and a cropped length. However, 1908 is easily modified for any sleeve or body length, and also makes a gorgeous vest! Notes are included for modifications.
The sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round, separated at armholes into front and back pieces, and then worked flat to shoulders. Sleeve and collar stitches are picked up around seamed openings and worked in the round to end. Armhole shaping is worked intentionally so remaining cables continue neatly upwards along armhole edges." --Thea
